About Symposium
After the successful conduction of the first two International symposiums, taking the legacy forward, the third edition will be held on the year 2025 at Kolkata. BSI-ISPTEBG 2025 aims to provide an international forum for researchers, policy makers, and industry practitioners to share their original research results & practical experiences on Plant taxonomy and floristic research, ethnobotanical study and conservation techniques. The topics from different perspectives, includes - endemic species, threat assessment, botanic gardens, revisionary studies, access to benefit sharing, People’s Biodiversity Register (PBR), sustainable utilization etc. The symposium will have a separate session on sharing India’s experience on revision / updating of National Biodiversity Strategies and action plan in alignment with the Kunming Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, 2022. The symposium will also include a keynote address, and lead lecture from eminent invitees and is scheduled to run in 4-5 parallel sessions. There will be an exhibition on the collection of ethno-botanic artefacts and different publications from BSI and other publishers.

Venue
Kolkata, popularly known as the City of Joy, is known for its rich cultural, historical, art and literature. It is the capital of West Bengal, and one of the important metro cities of India. The city is well connected by rail, road and air from with the country. The city is also famous for globally recognized “Durga-Puja” which has been listed in UNESCO for vibrant cultural heritage. The erstwhile Capital of India till 1911, the city is bestowed with many historical monuments showcasing Neo-Gothic, Victorian and Indo-Saracenic architectural styles which attracts a large number of people.
