Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for the International Symposium on Plant Taxonomy, Ethnobotany, and Botanic Gardens

  1. When and where is the symposium taking place?

    Ans. The symposium will be held from February 13 to February 15, 2025. It will take place in an offline mode only at Kolkata, West Bengal (the designated conference venue will be updated soon on the website).

  2. Will the sessions be available online?

    Ans. No, only the recordings of the sessions will be available on the official YouTube channel of the BSI after the completion of the event.

  3. What is included in the registration fees?

    Ans. The registration fees include access to conference sessions, poster sessions, and the exhibition area; conference materials; a complimentary copy of the "Book of Abstracts"; as well as lunch and dinner as scheduled in the conference program. Accommodation is also provided on a twin-sharing basis during the conference to those who opted for accommodation during the symposium dates.

  4. What is not included in the registration fees?

    Ans. The registration fees do not cover travel aid or insurance. Participants should ensure they have a valid insurance policy before travelling.

  5. Can I get a refund if I am unable to attend?

    Ans. No, the registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Please read the terms and conditions carefully before submitting your fees and completing the registration.

  6. Is travel assistance available for international participants?

    Ans. Travel assistance is not provided. Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel plans and ensuring they have the necessary travel documents and insurance.

  7. How can I register for the symposium?

    Ans. Registration details are available on the symposium’s official website. Please follow the instructions to complete your registration and payment.

  8. What should I do if I have special dietary requirements?

    Ans. Participants with special dietary requirements should inform the symposium organizers during registration in remarks or as soon as possible to accommodate their needs.

  10.  Can I get the certificate of participation if I fail to attend the symposium after registration?

    Ans. No, a certificate of participation will only be provided to the participants who physically attend the event on all days. 

  11. If I do not want to submit the full-length research paper, will my abstract only be accepted for the symposium?

    Ans: Yes, submission of full-length research papers is not obligatory. You may register and submit an abstract only, which may be published in a Book of Abstracts of Symposium. 

  12. Can students who are in their graduation or post-graduation attend the symposium?

    Ans: Yes, any student who is willing to participate can register in the student/attendee-only category.
